Skates by Brand
Each individual may have their preferences but you can pretty much identify a handfull of brands who are any good at making recreational and fitness inline skates! The most popular, reputable brands are K2, Rollerblade and Powerslide. Bladerunner make great entry level beginners skates (they are owned by Rollerblade though). Seba also make a range of skates that are great for recreational use although they tend to aim alot of their products at the freestyle, urban and slalom market. Italian brand Roces Skates have also been big in the game for a long time. Their junior stuff is good and great value for money. Cheap skates are bad news as making a skate requires some level of engineering to make sure the skate offers equilibrium, support and comfort. It's also important for the skates to have polyurethane wheels and precision bearings to have what we would consider to be a satifactory level of functionality. Without these you will have no speed, no grip and very little shock absorbtion on top of the terrible noise they will produce!
