As many of you will already know, Nick Lomax; the Mancunian, contest conquering, video footage machine joined the LocoSkates team late last year. Here's Nick's latest promo vid thanks to Jordan Maders. Nick, last weekend placed second at the Boneyard Jam in Chester. Watch out for
he UK's golden boy at Winterclash in Berlin next month!
JennaDowning.com
Dedicated LocoSkates team rider and last years Women's World Champion Jenna Downing has just dropped her brand new website. The website focuses on promoting Jenna, particularly to outsiders of the sport in a portfolio
tyle. Jenna's got some impressive stats, check them out: Jenna Downing
Jenna Number 1 again
LocoSkates rider Jenna Downing proves once again she is the best female rollerblader in the world by taking 1st place at Winterclash in Berlin, recognised worldwide as rollerblading's biggest contest.
n smashed it again with an abundance of consistentcy on the streetcourse along with her trademark 900 over the big jumpbox (almost completely clearing it to flat bottom!). Congratulations (again)
Elliot next top model
UK Valo team rider Elliot Stevens just took what has to be one of the biggest modelling jobs in the UK right now. Elliot, humble as always, is fronting the new Ltd Edition range of clothes from Topman. Here's a picture of Elliot cotching in the front
of the Brighton Branch of Topman. Apparently he is in the front window of every Topman store nationwide! Elliot is also joined by fellow Manchester head Tom Penfound who can be seen modelling the new range on billboards in store and on the Topman
Massive Attack & LocoSkates
The LocoSkates team were recently involved in the filming of a new Massive Attack video. Here's some snippets from my mobile phone from behind the scenes. Loco team riders Sam Tuffnell, Oli Short and James Deans along with Loco dispatches manager Rob Woodbridge and myself (Jake) spent the best part of last week standing
und cold and/or rainy estates in London with sheets on our heads. The track is called Kingpin featuring Fever Ray from the Knife and is directed by Dougal Wilson who was the genius behind the videos for Life in Technicolour 2 by Coldplay, Fit But You Know It by The Streets and that one with the girls in Bikini's and powertools (no idea what track that is!) The idea is that we are (kinda tongue-in-cheek) ghosts so we have sheets on our heads and our legs are removed in post production. The skating movement gives the ghosts a fluid motion effect. The video should get a release in a couple of months.
Sky Sports Tuffnell
Loco rider Sam 'T-1000' Tuffnell recently appeared on the telly on Sky Sports. Sky featured a 10 minute spotlight profile on Sam which they aired a few times on Sky Sports 3 and 4. This has got to be one of the first time's a mainstream TV channel has done rollerblading some true justice (they
ally butcher the hell out of the footage and use the wrong clips!). Check out Tuffnell on TV at Kingdom mag. Sorry we couldn't embed it, you will need to fast forward to 11:49 on the video.
