About us
Loco Skates really is a genuine 100% skater-run shop. Run by inline skaters for inline skaters even our web designer rollerblades!
Loco is owned by UK rollerblader Jake Eley. Jake has been skating over ten years and has had as much involvement in the industry as he has with the pro-circuit. When you deal with Loco you can guarantee you are dealing with skaters who are interested in not only your requirements but 'rollerblading itself'. Be safe in the knowledge that we are selling you your skates for all the right reasons...mainly because we love skating.
Because Loco is skater owned it means we have the industry knowledge that other shops don't, allowing us to bring you the latest products and the latest news before anyone else.

Loco Skates currently has five team riders with many other top skaters representing across the UK:
Oli Short - Oli is probaby the most recognised rollerblader in the world at the moment. With two pro-skates from Roces, several pro wheels and loads of other endorsed products on sale worldwide, Oli has paid his dues to rollerblading and is dropping more hammers than ever abroad and at home with his unique and distinctive style. Oli's other sponsors include Roces international, Heat international, England clothing, Sifika shoes and 50/50 frames.
 Jenna Downing -
Jenna, with the exception of Brazillian Fabiola de Silva, is probably the best known female rollerblader in the world. At the ripe age of 19 Jenna wins every competition she enters in the UK and competes at the highest level all over the world. Her other sponsors include Razors skates and Shifty Clothing. Look out for Jenna regularly touring skateparks in the north. You can catch Jenna teaching kids to skate at rampworks or maybe making one of her seemingly regular television appearences probably teaching some clueless kids television presenter to drop in a flat bank!
Leon Humphries -
Hailing from South London our newest rider Leon Humphries was juiced when we asked him to represent Loco. Leon's character is as strong as his skating, riding for Valo skates in the UK Leon is recognised Europe-wide as being a raw street skater and has about as much steeze as possible. When Leon does a trick he MAKES IT LOOK GOOD. Leon's been representing since the very begining and has made skating in the UK look amazing time and time again, which is why we are delighted to have him on board.
Joby Dick - Relatively unknown compared to the other Loco riders, Scottish ripper Joby Dick aka James Deans is about to blow up - he destroys everything he skates. Wait 'til you see him at a skatepark or in a magazine near you soon. Currently riding for Roces skates Joby represents Loco with his heart and soul. Loco takes great pride in helping Joby out where we can and being the first to discover this new, unbelievable talent.
Jake Eley -
As the owner of Loco Skates it would be rude for Jake not to represent. Jake left sponsors K2 in 2005 to experiment with other brands and concentrate on the shop shortly after his pro-frame was released on the K2 fatty-pro in the UK last year. Jake has a string of great competition results and a thick portfolio of media appearances from the past few years.

Delivery info
All items that are in stock are sent by:
1 - 'Next day' courier delivery for items generally larger than a folded T-shirt (Skates, shoes, helmets, some frames etc)
or
2 - 1st class Royal mail for items the size of a folded T-shirt and smaller (T-shirts, DVD's, hats, wheels etc)
However for items that are not in stock:
The delivery time on these items will be only slighty longer, in many cases as little as 2-3 days but varies between items. The exact delivery time for these items will be displayed in most cases in the 'choose size' box or clearly displayed next to the product image.
IF AN ITEM DOES NOT HAVE A SPECIFIED DELIVERY TIME IN ITS DESCRIPTION THEN IT IS ASSUMED IT IS IN STOCK AND READY FOR IMMEDIATE DISPATCH.
'Next day' - refers to the name of the service provided by our couriers. If you order after 2pm your order may take up to 48 hours to arrive. 'Next day' does not apply to weekends as the couriers do not operate at weekends. So for example if you make an order at 3pm on a friday you may not receive it until the tuesday as with all other online retailers.
1st class Royal mail - usually gets to you next day if your postman happens to be on the ball! Of course sometimes they are useless and could take up to 5 days.
No delivery charges!
ALL ITEMS IN THE ONLINE STORE ARE SENT WITH FREE DELIVERY, THIS PRICE IS INCLUDED IN THE DISPLAYED PRICE OF THE ITEM.
-There will therefore be no aded or hidden charges when you reach the 'checkout' stage of your transaction
-All next day parcels will be delivered between 9:00am and 5:30pm although the rough time that the parcel will be delivered can not be defined. However if you would prefer the package to come after midday you can request this by sending an email shortly after you make your order to loco_skates@hotmail.com (there is a _ between the words loco and skates) or by calling 01323 411030. Parcels will need signing for on receipt. If there is no-one at the delivery address when you parcel is being delivered you will get a card through your letterbox advising you of where the package is. In most cases it will be at your nearest Initial city-link depot and they will try and redeliver it 3 more times before you will have to contact them. More precise information will appear on the card you receive.
Stock info
-Some of the skates displayed in the online shop may not be in stock at the Loco warehouse but are usually available to Loco within a day, skates that are not in stock will be marked with their estimated delivery time which in many cases is 2-3 days. This information will appear in the 'please choose a size' option-box in the online shop. Salomon or Xsjado skates that are not in stock will usually take '5-8 working days delivery time'.
-There may be a short delay in delivery of some aggressive skates that are marked as 'next day delivery' if the size that has been requested has been subject to a level of high demand that day.
-In the unlikely event of us not being able to ship an order you will be quickly contacted and given the option to change or cancel your order.
Orders out side of mainland UK
-Delivery charges for remote areas of the UK (Isle of Man, Northern Ireland and Scottish islands) will be subject to an extra £15 surcharge on their order if the order is too large to be sent by Royal Mail (skates, helmets, shoes etc). Delivery of these large items to these areas in most cases will take two working days considering the order is made pre 2:00pm. If the order is made post 2:oopm then delivery time may be up to 3 working days. For items that are sent by Royal Mail there will be no added delivery charge although you can expect the package to take slightly longer to get to you for obvious reasons.
-Delivery charges will vary for orders outside of the UK. Please call or E-mail for prices. Orders outside the UK will all be billed in pound sterling.
-Deliveries to countries outside of Europe may be liable to local import taxes on receipt. Loco recommends you check on this before you order
Returned goods.
-If an item is faulty or an order is wrong then we will arrange for collection and replacement at our cost.
-If an item is to be returned and is not faulty or subject to a mistake on our part then it will be up to the customer to cover the cost for the item to be sent back. The customer will have the choice of arranging the package to be sent themselves or we can arrange for the item to be picked up at a cost of £18 for skates and £15 for smaller items under 5kg. If you chose to send the package by royal mail it will cost you about £9 depending on the weight of your skates. If a refund is needed then the customer will be charged a 6% transaction fee (3% for original card transaction and 3% for the refund transaction). If an item is to be exchanged then re-delivery charges will apply (£9.50 for skates and £8 for smaller items under 5kg)
-For any item to be returned it is essential it is new and unused and boxed in its original packaging. If skates have rolled on concrete, even just once, they will not be accepted as a return.
-All goods are covered by a 14 day guarentee against immediate manufacturing defects. Most products however are covered by a year guarentee against manufacturing defects although it will be up to our discretion whether or not a product malefunction has been the result of everyday wear and tear.
-Items that are damaged or broken due to the general destructive nature of skating can obviously not be replaced free of charge.
Payment.
-Loco accepts all major credit cards. MASTERCARD, MAESTRO, VISA, VISA ELECTRON, SOLO, SWITCH, JCB. and also AMERICAN EXPRESS
-Loco uses Protx payment service provider for secure online payments. As a result of this we never come into contact with your card details.
-Loco will accept cheques, postal orders and cash by recorded post for those who do not have access to a credit card. Cheques should be made payable to 'Loco Skates'. Items will not be dispatched until the cheque has cleared.

Privacy Policy.
Loco Skates will not expose buyers personal information to any third parties in accordance with Data protection act 1998. Merchant copies of credit card reciepts are kept in a safe and secure enviroment. These have to be kept on record to comply with taxation laws and works the same for all other retailers. Your E-mail address will be kept for future events, news and information posts we think might be of interest to our customers. You will not be inundated with junk mail from us and will be given the option to be taken off our mailing list with each mail we send to you.
